Test Center of Excellence (TCoE)

TCoE means - More-robust testing governance, higher software quality, faster implementation and reduced software delivery cost.

As is clear from the nomenclature, the stipulation for a Test Center of Excellence is Excellence.

The cornerstones of a successful TCoE are People, Process, Tools/Technology and Infrastructure. And the four-pronged benefits gained by an enterprise by establishing and running a successful TCoE are more-robust testing governance, higher software quality, faster implementation and reduced software delivery cost.

A strong methodology is imperative for establishing a successful TCoE and it is a must that enterprises look at adding automation to their testing practices to accelerate Quality Assurance (QA) ROI and increase QA process efficiencies with supportive risk mitigation strategies.

Now, establishing and running a TCoE is easier said than done!  The first and foremost bottleneck is finding the right service provider with experience to match and who is also a good cultural fit with the organization. The vendor should also be someone who is willing to ‘disrupt’, that is lead and introduce necessary changes to existing system if it benefits the project and the organization.

It is proven from experience that when adopted carefully, managed and measured, TCoE is a surefire way to make quantifiable improvements in an organization’s delivery quality.
