Payment Card Industry Services

In 2006, the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council (SSC) was founded by the leading payment card brands.

It developed the Data Security Standard (DSS) as a single set of requirements for enhancing the security of payment account data. Any organization that stores, processes or transmits cardholder data is required by contractual obligation to be compliant with the DSS. The compliance levels remained low because the consequences for noncompliance weren't clear. Lately, however, the credit card companies have been threatening their clients with severe punitive consequences for noncompliance, including fines or loss of privileges to use their brands. Consequently, today we see many companies scramble to get compliant after an initial period of inattentiveness.

As a PCI-certified Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV), we offer services in two areas to help our customers: PCI compliance audit preparation services, and PCI compliance scans. AppLabs’ PCI services range from consulting on the completion of PCI Self Assessment Questionnaires and performing a preliminary compliance status review to completing a full ASV assessment. AppLabs also offers managed ASV scanning options.

The goal of AppLabs’ PCI Services is to help organizations evaluate and improve their PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) compliance. These services span the breadth and depth of the IT environment that handles cardholder data as specified in the PCI DSS. The DSS contains well over 200 specifically assessable requirements that cover nearly every aspect of security.
