JDE Validation Services

AppLabs’ JDE team can help organizations with the validation of the blue print of the business processes to develop the strategy, refine the scope and detect ambiguities before the execution. We work with the business teams to conduct a gap analysis on the blueprints and develop test plans for configurations. During the upgrades, patches & maintenance, AppLabs conducts an impact analysis using traceability to detect the target areas of test execution thereby reducing the regression cycle time. This combined with the AppLabs’ test accelerators can provide a significant ROI in terms of effort and quality of the roll outs. 

Our approach is centered on JDE’s Processing Options and Activity Rules which are the primary configuration tasks where the majority of time is spent during pre implementation, post implementation and upgrades. Processing Options define the behavior of a function and Activity Rules define the rules by which a process flows through the system. JDE consultants model the process flows and validate them with the business users to determine the test data requirements. This is to ensure that both positive and negative tests are conducted during the test execution and to target the different exception and alternate flows that are generally not covered during functional testing. Using proprietary tools like the Test Combination Generator and Test Data Generator, AppLabs can increase the test coverage significantly with minimal cost impact.

The validation services are measured and monitored using metrics and dashboards to help the engineering and executive leadership to make informed decisions during the JDE implementation. The custom dashboards provide information about the quality of the business processes and the health of the different stages of implementation.

AppLabs leverages the experience from its ACoE (Automation Center of Excellence) to develop custom regression suites to perform targeted testing based on events such as Implementation, Patches, upgrades & Rollouts. The business process driven test suites combined with intelligent test data can be managed by business users to conduct tests for the various events.
