Test Process Consulting: Process Improvement in a Challenging Economic Climate

In the current economic climate, most organizations are looking to reduce costs. Many organizations are achieving cost reductions by reducing headcount across all divisions / departments (including test/qa). There is no doubt that headcount reduction is a valid approach given the current climate, especially as resource costs tend to be the largest overhead component for the majority of businesses. More importantly, for some businesses reducing headcount may be the only way to ensure short term survival, so it is difficult to say this is not a valid approach.

This document aims at addressing the risks of reducing headcount as the only or main method in reducing costs. It also highlights an alternative approach to make businesses, not only more cost effective but also more cost efficient and competitive.
