Solutions Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

The Solutions Engineer ( Enterprise) must have at least 5-7 years of experience working with Fortune 500 companies and is responsible for generating custom solutions. The candidate must have a strong technical background and experience in Enterprise Applications (Investment, Banking, CRM, SAP Management, Front and/or Back office, etc) in order to provide specialized information and customized solutions to customers. A Sales Engineer is also familiar with a variety of technical industry standards, regulatory practices and procedures within the Enterprise Applications field.

  • Work in collaboration with the Business Development Manager (BDM) to close new client business by providing technical expertise.
  • Act as the technical resource to the Sales Team
  • Provide first line support for Sales Professionals
  • Meet with prospective customers in the US to determine their business needs
    build proof of concepts (POC's) as needed.
  • Provide technical advice and support to the Sales Team; primarily for Specialized software testing needs and complicated global delivery Services.
  • Work with the Sales Professional to win business by responding to the customer's technical questions or issues in a way that effectively articulates how the services solve the customer's business problems; effectively communicate the benefits, and returns on investment of proposed service solution.
  • Make presentations to customer's C-level financial executives.
  • Will work closely with entire sales team to evaluate and assist in sales strategy and solution recommendations for prospective customers.
  • Keep up to date on the latest QA processes and methodologies (Six Sigma, PIMP, ITIL, ITSM, etc).
  • Proficient in regulatory practices and procedures within the financial field (SEC, NASD, SOX, etc).
  • Provide feedback to the Delivery Team on engagement requirements and expectations.
  • Develop proposals and custom solutions.
  • Provide responses to RFI / RFP and related documents.
  • Attend various industry events and trade shows to enhance growth and provide sales support.
  • Understand and keep up to date with technology and communicate updates to management and to leverage this understanding in presentations and demonstrations.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • BS in Computer Science or Business discipline and/or equivalent experience
  • Strong grasp of Enterprise Applications.
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience.
  • Ability to gather and understand the potential customer's requirements and convert the requirements into an effective proposal or POC.
  • Strong analytical and business process skills and ability to apply them to technical solutions.
  • Advanced skills in technical writing.
  • Ability to make persuasive boardroom presentations, lead customer meetings, and listen effectively.
  • Ability to effectively deliver technical information to an audience comprised of varying degrees of technical knowledge.
  • Strong written communication skills for responses to proposals, RFI and RFP documents.
  • Excellent customer facing skills.
  • An understanding of the strategic challenges of the enterprise industry is a plus.
  • A willingness to learn, and the ability to grasp new ideas and information quickly is required.
  • Need strong business acumen; must understand the link between business needs and application of technology.
  • Individual must be self directed and self motivated.
  • Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% of the time.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with global and or outsourced teams is a plus.
  • Proven track record in working with multiple initiatives and projects at the same time.
