Performance Testing for India based Automated Cab Dispatching System Application (Travel)

The client is India’s largest and finest cab service provider. The company offers world class services and operates their fleet of modern air-conditioned GPS enabled cabs in four major Indian cities – Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, and Hyderabad. The client’s core business is highly technology enabled with a fully automated cab dispatch system that operates on technologies like GPS, GPRS, GIS, IVR, web, and SMS.

The challenge was to simulate a close to real time scenario that included call center operation (Web/Web services interfaces), thousands of cab devices – Mobile Data Terminals (MDT devices that poll and update data to servers over GPRS), and real time monitoring (Web interface) of the systems.

AppLabs’ team strategized the simulation of various interfaces both mutually and individually as part of test planning. Tests were conducted in parallel with the script development phase to save time and system tune each application module.
