Microsoft Windows Hardware Pre-Testing Services (WHQL)

The Microsoft Logo Program is designed to ensure compatibility between third-party products and Microsoft operating systems, and enhance customer confidence in the Windows experience. It involves a process of a series of tests designed to assess whether third-party products meet Microsoft’s standards of reliability, stability, and quality.

The Microsoft "Designed for Windows" logo identifies hardware and software products that have been designed and tested to meet Microsoft standards for compatibility with:

  • Windows® XP
  • Windows® Vista
  • Windows® 7
  • Windows® 2003
  • Windows® 2008
  • Windows® 2008 R2

Products displaying the logo have passed rigorous testing that assures they are easy to use, stable, and take advantage of the new features of Microsoft Windows operating systems. AppLabs, an independent testing facility, provides the pre-testing required by Microsoft and processes the product submission. The product is then verified by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL).

This service is available as a custom quote by sending email to whql@keylabs.com When sending your email message please include information about your product, the product URL, your contact information, and the Microsoft category designation. A representative from AppLabs will then contact you to discuss testing particulars and pricing options.

AppLabs can conduct WHQL pre-tests on the following hardware:

  • 1394 Device
  • Display Adapter Device
  • Display Monitor Device
  • Gaming Device
  • Keyboard Device
  • KVM Switch Device
  • Modem Device
