Once you decide to obtain the EMC Centera Proven designation for your product, you just follow these steps:
Integrate your product with Centera
Register to become a Velocity Technology & ISV CAS Specialty Partner on the EMC website.
Download the Centera APIs from the Centera Developers Portal, register with Centera engineering for free Centera API training, and then begin integrating your product with Centera.
Once you complete the Centera integration, work with Centera Engineering to capture specifics of your application integration in an Integration Matrix. Then review integration with Centera Engineering to verify that it leverages the Centera features correctly, and if it does THEN Centera integration is approved and it goes GA.
Register for testing at AppLabs
As you near completion of your integration inform EMC that you want to do the Centera Proven testing and then initiate the process by logging in and registering the product at the AppLabs Certification Portal, we'll review it to make sure your product is an appropriate candidate for testing.
When we accept you into the program, our Administrative Coordinator will email you. The Administrative Coordinator will always know the status of your test project with AppLabs. This initial email will request more information, such as hardware and third party software needed to complete the test. It's important that you reply to this message in detail.
Once we have this information and confirm you are eligible with EMC to go through the testing, we will email you a tentative testing date.
You will recieve the following documents
Master Testing Agreement: This is agreed to during the registration process.
Test Plan: This document shows the steps we'll put your product through during testing. You will also find a pre-test questionnaire in Appendix A of the test plan that asks for key application dependent steps to complete the test cases. This questionnaire must be completed and returned to the Administrative Coordinator at least one week prior to test execution. The Test Plan uses test tools available in your Centera API's SDK, and you may run them yourself using the Centera Online Lab available on the Centera Developer's Portal.
EMC Centera Proven Logo License Agreement: Pass this to your legal department for their review. You'll need to sign this before you can use the Centera Proven logo; you'll execute it directly with EMC.
EMC Centera Proven Press Release Template: If you plan to issue a press release announcing your product has earned the EMC Centera Proven logo, you will need to use this template. We recommend that you forward this template to your marketing/PR department for them to complete.
A valid Purchase Order for the full cost of testing. See our Overview page for details.
Agree to the Master Testing Agreement upon registration
A completed pre-test questionnaire and test cases by market segment table.
If you fail to supply any of these items on schedule, you could lose your test date and incur an additional fee.
Our Remote Test Process overview outlines the testing process for ISV applications. Please review this information so that you understand the expectations of ISVs throughout this process. This will enable you to successfully complete testing and become recognized as a "Centera Proven" solution.
Please make sure that your primary contacts and technical contacts are available for consultation during the test period, if needed.
Any issues which arise during testing will immediately be escalated by the Test Team Lead to your personnel and to EMC, as necessary. EMC may become involved in the discussion, and provide support or guidance.
Important: Logo Expiration and Retesting
Every Centera application test is valid for a term of 24 months following the test, beginning on the date of signature on the EMC Centera Proven Logo License Agreement. Following that period, each product must be re-tested using the then current EMC criteria and test procedures. Logos and marketing claims related to the Centera Proven logo may only be used for the tested versions of products; however, minor product revisions and slipstream patches need not be retested. Each major product release or incremental version, including significant feature changes, must be re-tested. Please contact the EMC Centera Proven Program Manager with specific product issues.
EMC reserves the right to require retesting before the end of the 24-month term based on new releases of your product, significant changes to your product features, changing market conditions or new Centera technologies.
That's it! To set the process in motion, simply contact us.
